“Auburn will love you back” – Spotlight on Derick Hall
AUBURN, Alabama – As hundreds of fans rushed onto the field to celebrate the 2019 Iron Bowl victory, Derick Hall stood under the lights of Jordan-Hare Stadium and knew he had picked the right school. Three years later, his love for Auburn football has never wavered.
As soon as second Hall came to campus for his first recruiting visit, he felt the love of the Auburn family and he was drawn to it.
“When I arrived on campus, I immediately felt this family atmosphere,” says Hall. “It was really special to come here. It was like no other.
On top of that, Hall was drawn to Auburn because of the competitiveness, dedication to Auburn’s creed, and the values of the university as a whole.
Hall started playing football at age 4 and while other sports were in the picture, football was his first love. The Gulfport, Mississippi product grew up playing in peewee and recreational leagues before moving on to college and high school. He credits much of his success to the coaches who helped him along the way and still communicates with many of them.
“I’m still close to a lot of those coaches,” Hall said. “They’ve all helped me along the way in so many places, helped me grow into the man I am, helped me learn more about football. I’m indebted to them. I can’t give them back enough for what they have done for me.
