Honda HR-V: Partial function, full city exploration
It has been over a decade since Lisa Robinson, Senior Director of Change Management at Scotiabank, moved from Halifax, Nova Scotia to Toronto. not always reliable.
âI knew I wanted a Honda because I grew up with Hondas in my family and I know they are reliable,â said Robinson who rented his first Civic through Formula Honda in 2013. After researching the models available, Robinson purchased a 2021 Honda HR-V in June from the same dealership.
âThe reason I chose to lease is because I had a bad experience with a non-Honda car that I bought in Halifax. It collapsed and I kept putting money in it, so I said never again, âsaid Robinson.
“I was also drawn to the fact that I could trade it in and get a new car every few years, and I didn’t have to worry about breakdowns or that sort of thing.”
Although he doesn’t drive as much these days due to working from home, Robinson continues, âMy lease was up, so I thought you know what? Let me come in and take care of this. Also, my 2017 Civic’s air conditioner was dead, and even though the warranty had expired, Honda took over the repairs because other Civics had the same issue. While I was at the dealership, I went to talk to the salesperson I still deal with. I literally walked in, dropped off my car for repair, and left with a new car that I was going to pick up a few days later.
âI have always rented from Formula Honda in Scarborough. Their customer service has always been amazing, and this is my third car with them. The first two were Civics, but I decided to go with the Honda HR-V because my last Civic was very low – it seemed even lower than previous models and I have osteoarthritis in my hip. . For me, getting in and out of the car was a challenge, so I was like, “Okay, let’s go a little higher,” said Robinson. âThe height and being, I guess, higher (I’m short) above the ground so that I could see when I was driving was also essential for me.
âI was really thinking between the CR-V and the HR-V. I did a lot of research online about their differences and what people think. Ultimately, it was about the price and the fact that there was a bit more legroom and more comfortable seats for the CR-V’s passengers. The HR-V was more compact and the seats tilted differently, so I was interested in my dog ââNika (she is a four year old boxer). We hike a lot and travel out of town, so I wanted to give him more space in the car.
